Matterhorn
View from Gornergrat toward Zermatt.
Railway station in Zermatt.
Here you can check a live webcam from Gornergrat. Matterhorn is a famous peak in Europe, located on the border between Switzerland and Italy. Its elevation is 4478 meters above sea level. A convenient place to view Matterhorn is the peak called Gornergrat at 3126 meters.
You can reach Gornergrat through Zermatt. Getting there takes time because the route goes through the mountains: from Geneva it takes about 6.5 hours, from Zurich about 8 hours. A mountain train runs from Zermatt to Gornergrat, and with SwissPass you can buy the ticket for half price. You can build your route with the help of sbb.ch.

Another photo from Gornergrat. There are many stone pyramids like these there.
Here I noticed some reflective point, but it was impossible to make it out without optics, so I zoomed in with the camera:
Later I found a description of this structure online. It turned out to be a hotel that generates 90% of the energy it uses by itself. They designed that hotel for six years.
